Are you getting your fiber?
Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology is available in 652 communities connecting 322,700 homes, according to research released last week at the FTTH Conference in Las Vegas.
Those figures should only increase as Verizon continues its FiOS buildouts.
The report was released by the Fiber-to-the-Home Council, the Telecommunications Industry Association and Fiber Optic Communities of the United States.

Martino, I will be among the first few thousand to have it. Verizon has the FTTH built in my community, but I'm waiting for the cable franchise to get approved before I switch. It appears Verizon will be very conserative and not do anything exciting with the pipe into the home other then mimick and under-price Comcast services.

After rereading your post...I'm confused. I thought FTTH cable was only available in one town in Texas and they only a hand full of homes in the US...322,000 homes?

I just found your posting. Sorry, I was struck with a ton of spam on the same day that you left your comment.
No, everywhere that Verizon is rolling out IPTV, they are doing so with their FTTH approach. However, it is town-by-town that they are choosing for their roll out plan. I suspect that it will not get widely deployable in large numbers until after 2006. I would really like you to provide insights about their service bundle when you become one of the first to use it.
By the way, are you the Kevin Bowe that I know from Adblocks?
